I went ahead and created a Discord server for The Realm community. I'm the GM of a Top 30US WoW guild and we've been Discord users for a long time. The rest of the gaming community is catching on now. You will see most popular streamers using it. It's free, just download the desktop app and use the instant invite code to gain access to the server. It's unique in the way it provides security with these codes. They are essentially authentication keys. Once you nerds start tinkering with it I'm sure you will see the benefits to it.

Also @Stephen you could look into getting partnered with these guys. I've applied as well for my own community, but the applications really easy. I would put Discord at a solid phase 2, maybe 3 of business growth so your chances are still good. Look into this software application yourself. I think there's opportunity there for you and this community currently and for years to come.
